WHO I AM AND WHY I’M RUNNING FOR MAYOR
I’m a 25-year resident, retired Officer of the U.S. Navy in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps, former Town of Surfside Commissioner, Town Attorney, and Town Manager. I have practiced law in the State of Florida for almost 30 years and served as a State of Florida Circuit Court Judge from 2017-2023. Dalia (the “Town Roller Blader”) and I have been married for almost 30 years. We have raised our three children and our rescue dog Harding here. We love Surfside!
I’m running for Mayor to give Surfsiders a choice. We can go backwards, stay the course, or get new, bold leadership from someone who knows this Town, its government, employees, issues, and community. I will work to stop affordable housing projects that violate our low-density zoning code. I will work to lower our water/sewer bills. I will work to enhance public safety and lower its cost together with our neighboring police departments of Bal Harbour and Bay Harbor Islands. I will protect our religious community and its way of life. I will work to create a beautification committee to enhance our physical environment. I will work to build more effective traffic calming measures, at a lower cost, throughout the Town. I will work to ease traffic by staggering construction activities. I will also work to build us a new, indoor recreation center and gym across the street from the Community Center. Capital Improvements, Enhanced Public Safety and Service, as well as Lower Taxes is what I will work to deliver to us all.
